Assistant Coach Chris Swansson
Assistant Coach Chris Swansson is entering his fourth year with the Rosemount Irish Baseball program. Swansson teaches AP Psychology, World History, Culture and Religion and Developmental Psychology at Rosemount High School. For the past three years, he has served as a Varsity Assistant Coach for the Irish Football team and a Varsity Assistant Coach in Boys’ Basketball for one year. Swansson also serves as the coach of the Rosemount VFW (16-Year Old) Baseball team in the summer. A graduate of Woodbury High School, Swansson was a three-sport athlete for the Royals. He served as Captain for Football, Basketball and Baseball. He was a two-time All Conference selection in all three sports. In baseball, he earned All Region, All State Honorable Mention Honors, in addition to being named to the Lions All State Series after his senior year. Swansson then attended Gustavus Adolphus College in St. Peter, Minnesota. At Gustavus, Swansson played football and baseball for the Gusties. In Football, he was a three-time All Conference selection and an All Region/All American Honorable Mention selection. He also earned two more All Conference honors in Baseball and holds four school records in Football and 11 school records in Baseball. Swansson holds a Bachelor of Arts from Gustavus, a Masters Degree from St. Mary’s University of Minnesota and a Administrative License from the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul. Swansson previously coached at Edina High School, spending six years as a Varsity and Sophomore Coach for the Hornets Football team, six years with the Freshmen Boys’ Basketball team and six years as a Varsity Assistant in Baseball. He also coached the Edina’s VFW team for five years. A current resident of Rosemount, Swansson resides there with his wife Corene and children Chance and Kylie.
